Love Letters to Random People (Part 1)

 Love Letters to Random People

Part 1

Dear Sophia (from Clairo's song),
I've never been the kind of person to talk useless shit about how pretty your eyes are or how luscious your hair is, you probably know that since it's a fact. I don't know how you feel inside but I am sure as hell confirmed about my feelings; I am not here to tell you that you're gonna be mine or how possessive I'll get over you but I just want to tell you that I love your flaws, your perfections, doubts and questions. Believe me Sophia, I don't want you for how pretty you are but for how much I love your inside. I think we could do it if we tried, we could work out but I know you have this sense of guilt inside you. I wish you and me being together didn't feel like a crime but it does; there are a lot of things that could have gone differently but they didn't. Do I regret things? Yes. You made me rethink a lot things I knew about myself, heck I never knew I could fall in love with a quiet girl that didn't speak even a single word, but the time we've spent together was enough to tell me that you're the one I need. The one who can break me, fix me, make me do stuff that makes no sense and above all, love me. You're the one Sofia, you're the one I need to make this living hell of a life better, call it a hunch but it's you Sofia who can make y/n better. Meet me tomorrow in the school fields if you feel the same way as me and please Sofia, don't come with regrets and guilt because I don't want to be the one who hurts you, I'll erase my feelings for you just so that you feel good but they're so deep that I might have to cut myself for this. But I just want to say, Sofia

An O'Levels Student's Guide to Surviving High School

Do You Want To Survive School + Get Good Grades in CIES?

Life goes on, what can you do? Wrong. It's your life, learn to take control of what's happening around you with confidence; however, leave things on Allah as well because results are not in your hands but of course, you have to try your best. Let's start off with studying because it's always this dreaded thing that keeps us awake at nights. Here are some tips that are foolproof and you can definitely increase your grade by a hefty 35% (according to research) by following these tips that proved successful for me.

1. Do Past Papers (Priority: High)
O levels is all about how many past papers you do because practice makes perfect, more specifically, this technique is called active recall because you are applying your knowledge by writing answers that you studied. Additionally, there is a high possibility of some questions repeating so get your act straight.

2. Make time for revision

Ah! Studying on the last day, something that we are all accustomed to. STOP THAT HABIT. Get everything done beforehand so that you can take the day before to revise everything that needs to be done or is highly probable to come in the exams.

3. Make notes

Notes are an important part of what you need to survive high school, be careful that you take good care of them and those pages are not flying out of your binder or are crumpled up in your backpack.

So, by now I have given you the tips every teacher gives you to survive the first week and make you feel a bit at home when you need to take time for yourself. Here are some student tips that can get you places around the student life.

1. Take 5 minute breaks only

2. STOP USING SOCIAL MEDIA 24 HOURS

3. POWERNAPS ARE THE ELAICHI TO YOUR CHAI

4. Chat with your friends when necessary

5. REVISE. REVISE. REVISE

6. Have at least 7 hours of sleep

7. See if the Pomodoro technique works for you

8. Get digital if it helps (more on that later)

9. Have a serious study group with friends

Getting digital (the dos and don'ts of life):

So, you want to get digital, that's alright. You'll be needing a whole lot of equipment and memory (computer) to get everything in its right place. I personally find getting digital a little tricky because typing in notes is the worst kind of problem to come since majority of the students will find investing in a stylus useless. However, being the tech savvy person I am, Beenish Saeed, will recommend to you some laptops that you can buy + tablets that will help you go digital and find familiarity in the tech world for studying.

1. Microsoft Surface Laptop 3

2. Apple Macbook Air 2014-2020
Available on OLX and https://www.apple.com/

3. Dell XPS 13

4. Microsoft Surface Tablet

5. Apple IPad (Pro, Mini, Air) Check compatibility with pencil

Here is my complete guide for you guys to get in the study mode and my next blog will be about the student life as a whole which includes chilling and the baby girl, Instagram. Au revoir friends!

My Journey With Bodyshaming

My Journey With BodyShaming

How I Lost My Confidence?

I still remember the day,I was 8 years old when my uncle brought chocolates for me, Mars they were. It was a huge pack, about 1 kilogram or so, it was the best gift someone had ever gotten me, before I could reach out to grab the box he said, "I bought one kilogram of chocolates for you according to your size." It felt as if a storm had died done, but it was preparing for something even worse. My parents too joined in and laughed but they wouldn't understand, brown parents never do. To them everything is a joke, they laugh on your skintone, joyously call you a baby hippo, if you aren't size zero then you are a nobody, to them everything is a fucking pleasantry. I have been on more diets than I have had happy memories, I almost lost my Father to cancer in 2012, but they never asked how I was feeling. They were more concerned about me living in my Nano's house and how disrespectful it was for them. But they wouldn't understand, brown people never do. I have been called "Kali" which means black more than a trillion times, people have joked about my weight, to them I am somebody who is disposable, a chess pawn that can be knocked down but they don't understand, brown people never understand. They would say I have everything, Airpods, Adidas shoes, Ipads, everything I need, laptops and so much privilege that me writing this article would be classified as me being needy for too much attention. Have you ever given me enough in the first place? They never ask what I am studying, how I am studying or if I even am studying? I tried to open up to them but they said, "We are middle-class people, we don't have time for your filmy talk, we just care about your education and we need to work to earn, you should have been thoughtful." Heck, I just asked them if they knew what my favorite color was. My Dad jokingly says that he'll hit my mom, calls her fat, I tell him not to do it and he says, "Why are you taking your Mom's side?" Brown people never understand and I don't ask them to. I cover myself with a scarf everyday just because I want to but they say that you lose weight and everything will get better, trust me it doesn't. I feel people's gazes on me even when I'm alone without a scarf, I feel as if they're judging me. Brown people never understand anything and I don't ask them to.

An Ode to the Class of 2020

For the Class of 2020

The Best Class To Ever Graduate

For the class of 2020,
5 years of hard-work, all this time to have an amazing farewell ceremony, hats to be thrown, IVY League colleges to apply to, travel plans, where are they all now? All those Polaroid pictures, where are those last moments with our favorite teachers? I know it may come as a shock but don't worry, no other high school batch has been written letters by celebrities, random people on the internet and even me. You are special and will always be remembered, stay strong because once all this ends, there will be ceremonies upon ceremonies for you. Patience bears the most beautiful of fruits, I pray that none of you give up hope. As for American teenagers, I deeply empathize with you, all this time for nothing. Prom parties to be thrown, homecoming ceremonies and so many other things that I cannot even count.

Just believe in the positive power of this universe, everything will be alright. Online ceremonies and virtual parties, can they really compensate for all the hugging and tears that were to be shed on shoulders. I am sending all my love your way, thousands and thousands of heartfelt apologies. I feel for you, I really do and I am praying that you get an exuberant celebration when all of this is over.

Lots of love and sympathies,
Beenish.

Pakistani People: Aka Trollers and Judgemental

Diriliş: Ertuğrul

Is Moral Policing Its Cast Okay?

From the past few days, the hype of the famous Turkish TV show Dirilis: Ertugrul has been in the air after it was also recommended by Prime Minister Imran Khan in a tweet to extend friendship towards Turkey. Then, Instagram came along and people started moral policing its cast based on how they dressed and how one actor also had a dog which blows my mind.

It is mildly surprising as these people have at least decency and shame as compared to our actors who come in cheapskate shows like "Jeeto Pakistan" and know nothing about general knowledge. But why Pakistanis? I'll recommend you guys some good books that you can read instead of wasting your time trolling them. This may come as disturbing to you guys but I hate Pakistanis sometimes, and no I am not generalizing the entire population but those who waste time on Instagram commenting on these people's posts. For God's lovely sake, Turkey is a secular state, its people can wear whatever they want, whenever they want and no, they will not ask what people in Pakistan think! Get that through your thick skulls. You have no write to police them, that's not your job, instead of paying attention to your school courses, you have the nerve to remind them of their moral compass. Just get back to whatever hole you came out from and please, our country needs people to work on science and technology instead of people who just sit on their computers all the time. I am fuming at these people, just calm down Beenish, lol! Hey, hey, hey! Did you read my previous article, scroll down to find my conversation with 8 Instagram Bloggers!

Inspirational Journeys

How an idea turned into reality

In Conversation with 8 Instagram Bloggers

Hi everyone! Hope you all are safe in these difficult times; moreover, we all must not forget that this time is there to reflect and inspire us to be better when all of this is over so that we are stronger than before. Today, eight Instagram bloggers will be sharing their journeys on how they took initiative towards achieving their passion. They all had diverse ideas that finally took flight in this quarantine season.

My opinion:

Writing-something that teleports me to another dimension, it gives me the ability to create words and sentences that leave a lasting impact on people. My biggest inspiration is Rumi-his name lightens up a spark for knowledge inside me, fun fact, I have read 3 books by Rumi which further shows the impact his work has on me. You just have to give your readers an eye to eye confrontation experience, it is alright if your writing is not immensely astute but even simple words can cause a wave effect. Make sure you trust your instincts and follow the SMART objectives. Keep pursuing your passion even if its just you that reads your posts😊
Ramsha Areeb:
Its been a long time since I was thinking to make a social media page which would show my talents to others. I was told by Multiple people that I should start blogging. Quarantine gave me the courage and time to do it, so I made 2 social accounts, one for photography and one for makeup. It actually felt great because everyone was appreciating me which gave me more courage to produce more content. Both of the things I chose showcase creativity. For e.g photography adds value to our lives, it allows you to share special moments via pictures. And in makeup, we can create different looks, we can face paint to recreate famous looks, etc. We can really just play around with colors which would give a unique result. Till now, it’s a great experience and I hope it stays that way.

Fiza Kashif

So this passion has been trapped inside of me ever since i can remember, and the good feeling that prevails within you after you finally share your work with the world cannot even be described. it feels amazing to not only reveal that part of yourself to people, but to also inspire other people to share theirs as well❤️

Qasva Yasser

Pursuing your passion in the aim and goal of each and every person in this world!! You can achieve it by anything whether from a social media blog account or by working hard!!! My passion has always been different!! I know that there are many stages in your life in which you have different passions to pursue!! When we all were younger we used to say doctor, engineer and etc. But now it's to much to pursue your inner talent. I have good voice I am good in arts!! This is my passion. Don't keep your passion a private thing inside!! Unless and until you are not gonna show your passion you are not gonna become passionate person. So peruse your passion anyway!! Like I did🙂

Malaika Ahmad

Tbvh, It was quite a tough journey. There were many times I failed. But still I remained focused and promised myself to keep practicing. As George Leonard said, “ Keep practicing, even when you seem to be getting no where” It feels great that now Im confident enough to start my own makeup blog and share all the tips and tricks I’ve learnt during the journey with you guys. Keep showing love 💞 Stay home, Stay Safe

Arisha Khurram

I’ve always been so obsessed with makeup and I always wanted to learn makeup and be the best amongst those who I could be so then I started practicing and now Alhamdullilah I’m on this place showing my ability of doing something and my talent to everyone. No one inspired me to start up my own makeup page on social media but yes there are some makeup artists which I follow. I believe that pursuing and following your dream is not bad thing weather you are bad in it or good time will make everything better because time is the best solution of every problem.

165 Shades of Chaos

Admin 3 : Well, someone should first find out what it actually is that they love to do. You would find yourself wanting to do many different things at once but you need to narrow them down to the 1 or 2 things you absolutely love to do! They should bring you happiness and peace of mind! And then you need to give it all your heart, in order to succeed in them! This hobby can turn out to be your future/career or you can still excel in it while pursuing something else that you love to do too!

Admin2: Passion can be achieved by believing yourself. Set small goals. Try to achieve them first. They will lead you to the Ultimate Goal. And never depend on other people. Try to make your own way.

Admin 1: Passion and hobbies, for me, are not same at all. Passion is something you're highly determined for and it leads to your dream profession as well. To achieve that goal, you have to keep in my mind 3 things; no short cuts, a road map to destiny and honesty. While hobbies bring you peace of mind, they are your relaxing therapies that help you in your free time or when you're exhausted or want a break from your daily routine. Don't try to achieve perfection with your hobbies like if u paint or cook or do anything in your free time, do it for fun. Plus don't get too involved in your hobby that it starts getting on your nerves. Do small things, feel happy, be proud of yourself and thank ALMIGHTY (that's the key to remain sane)

Hareem Bahadur Laleka

I always had passion for makeup. Experimenting with different looks was kind of relief therapy for me. I was lucky enough to be acknowledged and appreciated by my closed ones and that was where I got all that motivation to pursue my talent and showcase it to the world. The only key to excel is consistency and constant practice.

Hope you enjoyed today's post, these are pearls of wisdom from some bloggers that contributed, I will keep updating this blog as they keep sending their opinions to me. This is me Beenish Saeed signing off, until next time!
